Name: Faith Lehane
Fandom: Buffy & Angel
PB: Eliza Dushku
special abilities: slayer powers (like superhuman strength, fast healing abilities,...)
backstory: Faith was called as the new Slayer when she was 15 years old. Her watcher tought her how to fight.
When her watcher was killed by the vampire Kakistos Faith decided to travel to Sunnydale, where the other Slayer, Buffy Summers, lived.
After some trouble at first Faith and Buffy got along rather well. They became friends and went slaying together. But Faith still was a bit jealous of Buffy, who had everything Faith ever wanted: a loving mother, friends, a boyfriend and a watcher she could count on. This and the fact that Buffy didn´t really open up to her made Faith pull back as well. She started to keep to herself again, like she always did.
When she accidentally killed a man thinking he was a vampire Faith didn´t know how to deal with it. She told everyone and herself that she didn´t care.
Isolated and bitter, Faith secretly turned to the evil Mayor Wilkins. They developped an affectionate, emotional relationship, and she came to see him as a father figure. While serving Mayor Wilkins undercover, she killed several people. Faith even kisnapped Willow and wanted to kill her. Her duplicity was exposed when she tried to rob Angel of his soul.
Faith then shot Angel with a poisoned arrow, deliberately missing his heart to ensure protracted suffering and to distract Buffys efforts before Mayor Wilkins Ascension. The only antidote was the blood of a Slayer. Buffy then visited Faiths apartment to kill her, intending to give Faith to Angel for him to drain Faiths blood, but Buffy only managed to stab Faith in the gut. Faith jumped from the apartment building roof onto a moving truck and escaped. However, their fight left Faith in a coma for several months. During that time, Buffy and Faith shared a series of psychic dreams.
Faith regained consciousness several months later. After learning what had happened while she was gone, she visited Buffy and Willow on the UC Sunnydale campus. She was angry at Buffy's attempt to sacrifice her to Angel and devastated about the death of Mayor Wilkins. After a brief fight, Faith escaped from the approaching police and later attacked Joyce Summers, Buffy's mother, at her house. As Buffy was about to win the ensuing battle, Faith used a magical device, a gift from Mayor Wilkins, to swap bodies with Buffy. Buffy, in Faith's body, was kidnapped by a watchers council team to be taken to England, while Faith (in Buffys body) plansned to flee the country.
A bit later Willows new girlfriend Tara Maclay realized something wass wrong with 'Buffy' and told Willow. In the meantime, Faith flirted with Spike, and slept with Riley Finn, Buffy's boyfriend.
Later Faith was torn between her desire to flee and her sense of duty to rescue a group of churchgoers taken hostage by vampires. When she chose to save the hostages, Faith also encountered Buffy (who arrived on the scene with the same goal). During their confrontation, Faith savagely hurt her own body, expressing extensive self-hatred. With Tara's help, Buffy managed to undo the body switch, and Faith left Sunnydale by hopping a freight train.
The train brought Faith to Los Angeles. There she rampaged through the underworld, stealing and squatting in her victims apartments. Faith then was approached by Wolfram & Hart, who have learned that a "rogue Slayer" was in town, and hired her to kill Angel. She showed Angel her "evil" side by kidnapping Wesley and brutally torturing him. In a subsequent fight with Angel, (in which Faith had the upper hand the majority of the time) Faith insisted that he kill her because she was "bad." Angel repeatedly refused, and Faith eventually broke down crying, begging Angel to kill her until she couldn´t fight anymore.
Angel began the task of saving Faiths soul, forgiving her and working to break down her emotional walls. Just as Faith began to feel remorse for her crimes, Buffy arrived, looking for revenge. In the meantime, the watchers council also shows up, intending to kill Faith. Faith decided to surrender to the police and face the consequences for her actions, eventually being sentenced in a womens prison. Angel occasionally visited her there.
Faith, ironically, found some level of stability in her prison life, noting that at least she had three meals a day and an occasional movie. Although capable of escaping at any time Faith chose not to. She chose to make up for what she did in the past.
A few years later, Faith wass attacked by a Bringer in prison. Soon after, she wass recruited by Wesley to help find Angelus and assist in restoring his soul again. Without hesitation, Faith broke out of prison. Wesley later told her that "it had to be her" because of her determination to save Angel without killing him.
Faith battled Angelus, defeating him by tricking him into drinking her blood, after secretly injecting herself with a powerful drug, while Willow worked a spell to restore his soul. This incapacitated both combatants, almost killing Faith. But during a mental link with Angel and Angelus, she was persuaded by Angel not to give up, because for them, the act of atonement never ended.
After Angel's re-ensoulment Faith left LA with Willow to go to Sunnydale to help Buffy and her allies battle the First Evil. She initially followed Buffys command even though she had some doubts about Buffys decision-making skill. Buffy was less than enthusiastic about Faiths return, but recognized that reinforcements were desperately needed, and Faith showed dedication to being "one of the good guys."
However, when Buffy lost the confidence of the group and was kicked out of the house, the Potentials turned to Faith for leadership. She reluctantly agreed to lead, but her first attack lead the Potential Slayers into a trap. Faith was badly wounded but was saved by Buffy and the surviving Potentials. When the Potentials complained about Faiths decision, Buffy defended her, and she and Buffy finally made peace, noting that the friction in their relationship was perhaps due to the fact that under normal circumstances, two Slayers were never supposed to live at the same time.
Faith then played a pivotal role in the final battle with the First Evils army.
This backstory was done with the help of Wikipedia.
Friendships: Faith never really had friends. She was a loner, even though she really wished to have friends. She wanted Buffy and her friends to be her own friends as well, but her distrust ans jealousy made her betray them instead.
Relationships: Faith never had a real relationship, only short affairs and one night stands.
Sexuality: Faith prefers men, though she did try out being with women when she was younger.
Strenghts: Faiths main strength is that she has started to overcome her own fears. She is working on redeeming herself and be good again.
Weaknesses: Faith often is uncertain about herself and feel lonely. She also has a problem with letting people in and trusting them.
Habits/Quirks: Faith usually hides her uncertainty behind witty remarks. She mostly dressed very sexy, some would even call it slutty. But Faith has changed a bit since being in prison. Sexy outfits just were out of the question there.
Personality: Deep inside Faith is a caring and loving person, but she rarely lets anyone see it. She was hurt too often in her childhood and thus doesn´t easily let people in anymore.
some quotes to remember Faith:
Faith: Isn't it crazy how slayin' just always makes you hungry and horny?
Faith:I'm telling you, I don't need a new watcher. No offense lady, but I just have this problem with authority figures. They end up kinda dead.
Faith:I'm on my side - and that's enough
Faith: Slaying is what we're built for. If you're not enjoying it, you're doing something wrong.
Buffy: Faith, you don't get it. You killed a man.
Faith: No, you don't get it. I don't care.
Faith: When are you gonna get this B? The life of a Slayer is very simple. Want. Take. Have.
